The program has two seperate class in each session, Fire Science I (First Year) & Fire Science II (Second Year) students. When at a glance they all appear the same, but there are 2 very distinct difference between them.
Fire Science "I"
- Dark blue shirt
- Yellow, Black or Orange helmets (Red is ONLY used by Fire Science I students after being promoted to a company officer)
- Light blue shirts
- Red "traditional style" helmets
The program uses the fire service "para-military" rank structure. The rank structure is used in a "chain of command" type fashion, much like the military.
